“NOT ENOUGH TIME”

Looking back on my life
All those carvings.
Selling that first one
Trying to make that first dime.
“Not enough time”

Trying to make a living,
Doing what I love,
Of course, with help from above.
Sometimes I still whine.
Still, “not enough time”.

Coaching, guiding, teaching,
Following my heart.
Keep a straight and narrow line.
Still, “Not enough time”.

Carving is a passion,
A gift from God,
A daily ritual.
I never skip a day.
I’m still in my prime.
Still, “Not enough time”

I judge my life by
How often I am able
To do what I love.
It takes concentration and devotion.
It’s a state of mind.
Still, “Not enough time”.

Hopefully when I’m eighty,
I’ll still have that passion.
Each piece, being one of a kind,
Still, “Not enough time”.

And when I’m in that heavenly place,
I’ll have no more worries.
God will tell me,
“Now, you have enough time”.
